TRIUMPHALIST--YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT?

TRIUMPHALIST--YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT? I believe that the Catholic Church was founded by Christ, on his Apostles, especially Peter, the first Pope. I believe in the teachings of the Ecumenical councils, I revere the Fathers of the Church, and I am an unapologetic Ultramontane Catholic. If you don't like it, too bad.

Welcome to The United States of Scarey

We're becoming a scarey place to visit or to live in, that's for sure.

Our police have a reputation for just up and shooting people--it's my understanding that Europeans who travel to America get told to be very obedient and polite to American police lest they be Tazed or shot out of hand--we're just getting down right creepy.

Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist about my saying our police just up and shoot people,  watch the news, and do a web search.  I haven't' forgotten the spectacle of  a half dozen cops emptying all of their high capacity magazine pistols into a homeless, emotionally disturbed man.  The current crop of "mistaken identity" shootings by cops in California is mind boggling, including women and a white guy whom they mistook for an black man.  Our cops are trigger happy to the point that it's insane, and seldom do the departments to which they belong approach the use of force by police with suspicion, rather, they back the officers.  To include, in a non -shooting incident--a recent episode in Ohio where a female called 911 because of a violent incident in her home.  When the officers got to her home, they decided it was proper to body slam her, handcuff her, and strip search her.  With male officers doing the stripping.  Oddly enough, they somehow neglected to turn on their dash cams, or other recording devices, yet one of the officers managed to get video of the twenty something woman's panties coming off while she screamed.  So, no apologies--US cops are out of control, and have been since the 90s.

Speaking of those recording devices, we have become a surveillance state.  You can go ahead and insert an anti Obama rant here, but it would be unfair.  This started under Republicans, and Republicans have voted for it, supported it, expanded it and nurtured it as well.  We're all concerned, and rightly, with the use of drones.  But it's so much more than that, it's gotten into the random and near universal monitoring of cell phone conversation, and now into the surveillance and manipulation of social media on the internet.  That is so reminiscent of the Gestapo and KGB practices it gives me the willies.

Media manipulation, it's now a fact of life.  When Vice-President Joe Biden says that the Regime is counting on "legitimate media"  to pass gun control measures, he's really saying two things:  The regime plans to control the public discourse through media outlets that adhere to the party line, and that those who don't are not legitimate:  Our government feels that any public dissent is not legitimate.  We've gone, in five years, from dissent being patriotic to dissent being illegitimate.  (Perhaps the regime is calling those who disagree bastards?  In a round about way, of course.)  When one considers the periodic attacks on conservative media by the President, and the attempts by the FCC to get control of the Internet, it looks a whole lot like an attempt to control freedom of speech, the press and information.  Considering that the courts have repeatedly struck down the attempts by the regime to get control of the Internet, it also looks a bit lawless.  However, this lawlessness is not restricted to the technicalities of the court room, or the mechanations of  politically appointed bureaucrats.  Sometimes, our out of control police, even when outside of their jurisdiction, attempt to use their perceived powers and intimidation to silence and intimidate journalists.

When you study the history of the twenties and thirties in Europe, and you track the subsumption of democratic states into fascist dictatorships, whether it's Italy, Portugal, Hungary, Romania, or even semi-fascist Poland, this is a pattern that appears and repeats itself.

The regimes control of the press rivals that of the Nazis in nineteen-thirty-three and thirty-four.   Let's try to keep it from getting worse.  If you don't believe me, wonder about somethings.  Why is there so little media coverage of  Representative Bob Menendez for not only going to a foreign country to have sex with underage girls (a violation of federal law) but doing so on a contributor's (who is also lobbyist) dime--also a violation of federal law.   Why has the major media ignored the fact that various agencies in the Department of Homeland security, and other agencies under it's influence, have purchased more small arms ammunition than has been expended in the Afghanistan war since 2001?  Why is the purchase of seven thousand assault rifles being so under reported?  Why is the purchase, announced this week, of twenty-two million more rounds of small arms ammo not being reported?  For that matter, how is the regime getting away with billing these guns as "Personal Defense Weapons" getting a free pass, when the same regime has just stated the opinion that they serve no defensive purpose?

Then there is the elephant in the room:  we're broke.  We're borrowing money to pay interest on the money we already borrowed.  Where is the cash coming from to finance this huge surveillance effort, all these guns and bullets?   When budget cuts mean that Troops in Afghanistan are not getting hot breakfasts (under the guise now of 'streamlining logistics, but initially reported as a budget move, and the troops told that)  we're arming non Defense Department paramilitaries at Federal expense?  And speaking of expense, why on earth are we providing a Muslim Brotherhood Regime with M1 tanks and F16 aircraft--at great expense--when they have already stated their intent to destroy Israel and kill or expel all the Jews?  This when the victims of Hurricane Sandy are still homeless, powerless, heatless and just got a tax increase on their ruined homes?  (And, why is this not exactly being touted in the press to the same degree as the situation in New Orleans after Katrina was?)

So we're helping out a fascistic regime based on religious fundamentalism and bigotry while our own people suffer, while those on medicaid are going without medical care, and our own religious bodies, of all stripes except Muslim are being sidelined and marginalized--Churches are barred from providing aid to Sandy Victims by FEMA (now part of DHS).  What's up with that?

Well, it turns out that Michelle Bachmann was right.  People from the Muslim Brotherhood are in government. And, the Egyptian Press reports it.  Along with those media and communication sites that the regime wants to silence.  They have been for almost two years.  Remember when the called Ms Bachmann nuts for saying it?  It's like Politifact calling Romney's assertion that Jeep would outsorce production to China after being acquired by FIAT the lie of the year.  (And now it has been announced that Jeep plans to produce 500,000 vehicles in China).

Yep, welcome to the United States of Scarey.  If you don't know about these things, you're not looking to find out.  If you try to excuse them, or explain them away, you're enabling the subversion of our Liberties.  If you approve of them, you're the enemy of the American People.

Dear Mr. Redneck, I read your blog as often as I can,and nearly am always in agreement with you. This sort of an off hand remark and a bit flip. Most of the real tension in the Middle East and spreading is from the Israeli Arab problem."The Israeli State has many representatives in the U.S. government thus Arabs should have." It is the only way that the madness has a chance of resolution. Anyone who believes terrorism is because Muslims hate our freedom is lying or very deluded.

me again. I meant 'this IS sot of.. etc. Then in "..." was to be off hand etc. Turns out it wasn't really. I just forgot to be flippant, because of the seriousness of the issue.

Anon--

If the palistinians would lay down their arms tomorrow, there would be no war.

If the Israelis lay down their arms tomorrow, there would be no Israel.

Moreover, the Muslim Brotherhood is an acknowledged terrorist organization--the oldist Islamic terrorist group in the world. NOt only that, but it is in open cooperation with others, which have called for our destruction.

Besides, look at the other issues--our president is gearing up for war--on us.

dear Anon too, I'll be very glad when Mr. Obama is history. This topic can,t be justly discussed here. There is a lot of history that has made the situation what it is. Unfortunately the majority, truly, do not know this history. They have heard a great deal of propaganda. Most of which in the U.S. is very one-sided.

dear Anon too, "If the Palestinians would lay down arms there would be no war." "If Israel did.no Israel." Today Palestinians have twenty-two percent of land that was Palestine when Israel was declared a state in 1948. Israel has taken seventy-eight percent of that land . Israel began it's settlement of these lands by terrorism. Do you think I'm lieing? It's very well documented.

Hey you two! I have a couple of observations:

1--Israel has never called for the destruction of the Palestinian people, and has seized only the territories that have been used to launch or facilitate attacks on them, beyond the 1948 UN DECISION. The Palestinians have abrogated every attempt to broker a just peace, and live with walls, etc, because they persist in killing of Israeli civilians. They have called for Israel to be wiped off the map and all the Jews in the middle east to be killed or driven out--a call for Genocide. That cannot be justified, or explained away, only ignored.

2--You're both missing the point of the post--our Regime is suppressing dissent, preparing for aggression against it's own citizens, in collusion with organizations that have declared our destruction and the imposition of sharia law their aims, disregarding Constitutional and Statute limitation on power and was re-elected (although I didn't mention it)through voter fraud.

Now, Shut up, both of you.

Anonymous, not sure which one, when you paraphrase or shorten a phrase, it shouldn't be put in quotes. I realize this is not important, but it really bothered me.
