Gen Schwarzkopf has passed.
This guy could have taught Guderian about Blitzkrieg. He orchestrated the destruction of one of the worlds largest, best equipped armies in 100 hours of ground combat. No matter what anyone says, the fact remains that he did it.
Like a lot of very effective combat generals, he had enemies and detractors. Like the rest of the combat greats, he didn't let it bother him.
He wasn't one of my personal favorites when I was in the Army, but then, I've never done anything like he did, either.
We've lost a great man, in an age where mediocrities dominate everything we do. A bit of American Exceptionalism and American Greatness passed with him.
