The daughter, the granddaughter, et al, were watching Last of the Mohicans. It's a great story, set in the time period that was perhaps the formative period of American national feeling. The movie is a wonderful adaptation of a novel that, while telling a rousing tale of adventure, courage , sacrifice and love suffers from dated language and a strange interpretation of vernacular American English. It was filmed in one of the most beautiful and wild landscapes in the lower 48, the North Carolina Mountains. The cast is excellent, and are able to carry their portrayals seamlessly. It's a great movie. I wish I could watch it with the attention and appreciation it deserve, but I just can't.
I keep getting distracted by Madeline Stowe.
