Jeannine Gramick is an allegedly Catholic Sister, who was prohibited by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith from working with New Ways Ministry--a "ministry" to homosexuals that teaches them it's OK to engage in Gay sex and holds out for 'Gay Unions' to be blessed by the Church--was also barred from ministering to sodomites. She is going to be lecturing at Fairfield University in Fairfield Connecticut. Gramick is also slated to speak at the Dignity USA convention. Dignity is a "Gay Ministry" that doesn't tell homosexuals that they need to be chaste, thereby promoting sodomy, and placing those it "serves" at risk for Eternal Damnation. She doesn't seem to be obeying the CDF very well, using "lectures" and "speaking engagements" as a means of undermining the Churches teaching among young adult Catholics.
Gramick has publicly stated that Our Lord and St. John the Evangelist not only experienced same sex attraction, but were, not to put a fine point on it, but buddies. She is a blasphemer. O quote from Gramick will serve to illustrate the way in which her thought has departed from the faith:
Lesbian/Gay Theology is an example of authentic subversion.
So, is there inauthentic subversion? Would that be something that sounds subversive but actually strengthens the Moral Teachings of the Faith, or uphold the things we received from the Apostles? At least she is straight up that she wishes to subvert the faith.
By the way, Fairfield University is supposedly a "Catholic" institution, but on their home page, I found nor reference to Catholicism, only an acknowledgement that it is a Jesuit institution. Likewise, their History page doesn't mention the Church. Buried deep is a statement about its "Jesuit" and "Catholic" identity, but very little on that page about Catholic Identity but the word "Catholic" itself--much more about Jesuit goals, globalism, etc. On the Student life page there is a reference--low on the page, to liturgies suiting the tastes and needs of college students.
So much for the East Coast, How's the West?
Well, Most Reverend Blase J Cupich, in a stunning display of selling out to the dominant paradigm has clarified a position with remarkable unclarity. In July, Cupich equated prayer vigils with "picketing", and said he disapproved of them in front of abortion facilities. He expressed "non-endorsement" of the 40 Days for Life program and activities, but kept his remarks so vague that no one is really sure what his position is. He did this in a meeting with the 40 Days for Life people. Further, it's been reported by his seminarians that he told them not to continue their Friday rosaries in front of an Abortion Clinic. The Seminarians have requested anonymity to avoid retaliation.
Cupich apparently believes that the feelings and sensibilities of abortionists--serial killers under the cloak of medicine who make their living by murdering people before they're born--are more important that the possibility that even one human life my be saved by the power of pro-life witness. I denounce him as a coward at best, and a covert cooperator with evil at worst.
On the 16th of September, the Diocese of Spokane issued a statement 'affirming' the role of priests as pro-ife educators, but saying that they shouldn't be confrontational--in other words, all talk, no walk. i wonder what Blessed Clemens Von Galen thinks of this, since he and his fellow Catholic Prelates defied the Third Reich over the murderous T program in German, and brought it to a halt, and who later were outspoken enough to spent their time under house arrest, or to be sent to death camps for their opposition to institutionalized murder.
Cupich has also directed that only materials concerning Abortion that are produced by the diocese of Spokane, the Washington State Conference of Catholic Bishops, or the USCCB can be distributed in Parishes. I have to wonder--does this include Humanae Vitae? After all, it's not produced by the listed agencies. Further, Cupich has ordered that the seminarians at Bishop White Seminary not accompany the Catholic Students from Gonzaga University in their rosary prayers on Fridays at the local murder mill. This has been confirmed by the Youth Groups at Gonzaga University.
The chancery is giving, now, the appearance of supporting 40 Days for Life, but has privately reinforced a "request" that priests not participate in prayer vigils for life. This has lead, along with other directives, to confusion--priests are no longer sure whether they will be disobeying their bishop if they do so.
It's telling that Pascendi Dominic Gregis cites just this sort of accommodation to the secular world, and the lack of clarity, that seems to remove the possibility of censure, as hallmarks of the Modernist Heresy. Cupich, and this is right at you, and right in your face, if the shoe fits, wear it.
In his official statement, Cupich cites the "current political climate" then goes on to say that a pastoral approach is needed. What this means to a Redneck whose testicles have not been excised is this: Cupich is citing the fact that we are in the midst of a bitter conflict for a Christian culture, and that since we won't change everyone's minds, we should just withdraw into our Church buildings and talk to each other. Never mind that over 50,000 kids are going to die because of his institutional pusillanimity. The man, rather than fearlessly confront the culture in the manner of the Apostles, of whom he is a successor, will cower behind words instead of preaching the Gospel fearlessly. I am ashamed that he is of the same Gender, nationality and Faith as myself. I hope someday to meet him, so I can refuse to shake his hand.
