Camping, Shoting, Fishing, Eatting.
All with a very dear friend. Yet it's going to be a bit sad--because I have friends who can't do this. They're dead.
And some of them aren't dead, but they're cripples.
So as I enjoy my holiday, It will be a bit sad, as I remember those men, who are in my mind always to be young. Who can't bounce their grand babies, or fish. Or enjoy a steak or a beer. And I am sad too of all those others I don't know, stretching back to the 1600s, who bled out their lives for me and mine, to make America a special nation, where rights are not granted to us by the goverment, but reserved by us from government interference.
Say a prayer for all those brave, brave boys, who died frightened and in pain, but who went forward through fear. And for all those whose lives have holes, because someone is missing.
St. Martin of Tours, patron of Soldiers and Cavalry, Pray for them
St. Michael the Archangel, patron of Paratroopers, Pray for them
St. Barbara, patron of Artillery men, Pray for them.
And you holy saints, who are patrons of Marines, Infantry, Airmen, sailors and all who serve our country, pray for them.
