My Brother In Christ, Subvet, (who is also another one of those mouthy old Catholic Vets who just didn't make the adjustment to liberal Catholic Pew Sitter very well) has a post up that both makes me glad to see someone proclaiming, and angry at the same time. It also happens to be true.
So go read him at http://agangershome.blogspot.com it's well worth reading and thinking about.
TRIUMPHALIST--YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT?
TRIUMPHALIST--YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT? I believe that the Catholic Church was founded by Christ, on his Apostles, especially Peter, the first Pope. I believe in the teachings of the Ecumenical councils, I revere the Fathers of the Church, and I am an unapologetic Ultramontane Catholic. If you don't like it, too bad.

Anne Coulter was on the News.
I'm not really a fan of Ms. Coulter. She may make good points, but she does so in such a way that alienates people--in fact, she alienates me even when I agree with her idea. She's downright obnoxious. In fact, I think she gives conservatives a bad name in some circles who might otherwise consider our viewpoints sympathetically.
So she was on the news last night. What was the deal? She was giving a speech. No biggie, that's what she does. But the thuggish side of the progressive movement was much in evidence--people insulting and trying to intimidate those who came to hear her speech. People trying to egg each other on to more outrageous acts.
And of course, the usual attempt to disrupt her speech by pounding on the doors, making lots of loud noise, etc.
This is what I have come to associate with progressives--trying to silence those who disagree with them, or to compel speech by others. I have seen this: I have seen progressives tear down the signs of pro lifers, cover them up, and attempt to intimidate people. I have heard progressives call for the silencing of conservative speakers. On the news, in the independent media, I have seen footage of progressives enter and disrupt speeches and seminars given by conservatives, pro lifers, Christians and those who oppose the "Gay Agenda".
Progressives don't want anyone to hear what we have to say.
OH--the idjits who were threatening Democrats in Congress have now been joined by idjits who are threatening Republicans in Congress, and the brick through the window has been matched by bullets through Republican HQs.
And when I look at the historical record--the conservative folks who are turning to civil violence are simply copying the progressives. (Remember the riots after the '04 election?) So I'm going out on a limb here:
If progressives are alarmed at the rancor that is being displayed towards them, perhaps they would do well to look at the rancor and contempt with which they have treated conservatives and moderates, and wonder, just for a moment, if perhaps the anger they see isn't caused by their own acts?

If you are not Fasting and Praying, You are Part of the Problem!
The inspiration for the foundation of the Sisters of Life was John Cardinal O'Conner wondering what could be done about the prevalence of organized, state sponsored Murder--and noticing a line in the Gospel, saying that certain demons could only be cast out by prayer and fasting. And the Sisters of Life were founded.
They found both their contemplative foundation, and their active ministry by the action of the Holy Spirit.
Now we have this Health Bill, that will make all of us cooperators in evil. It does fund Abortion.
We have all heard about President Obama signing an executive order saying that federal funds will not be used to provide abortions. That's yet another lie. Yes, he signed the order. But:
The Abortion Lobby say that it is but an empty gesture to placate those of us who hate the murder of children. In this they have found common ground with Pro-Life people. Professor Robert Destro, at the Columbus School of Law has analyzed the bill, and found that it does fund murder. Moreover he has pointed out that Federal Appeals courts have consistently ruled that if Congress funds a health bill, it must explicitly exclude in the statute that the funds are not to be used for abortions, otherwise they rule that the Federal Government must pay.
An example: In Massachusetts a court has ruled that Federal funds must be used to pay for abortion and contraceptive services for victims of sexual trafficking. Basically, if you are a hooker you are considered a victim of sexual trafficking, unless you work in a licenced brothel in Nevada. The law that set this up provided funds to HHS to provide medical care to Sex Workers considered victims of human trafficking. The Department agreed not to use these funds for abortion. The Court ruled that since Congress did not explicitly exclude this use in the appropriations, the Department of Health and Human Services was obligated to pay.
In the old days, we were persecuted and separated from our faith by the requirement to sacrifice to the Emperor. Nowadays, we are forced to sacrifice babies to Moloch, who is posing as progressive social policies.
By the way--you can read about the Sisters of Life at their website, www.sistersoflife.org . If perhaps, you are a single woman, you might ask the Lord if he wants you to join, otherwise, you might consider some of their other programs. Good Ladies, Good Nuns, and Good Works.
And, no matter what--make a sacrifice for life. Hey! You could bake some cookies, your favorite kind, and give them to the kids in your life, while not eating any yourself. That's an easy start.

This is for Mark Walker, Musician, Leader, and Candidate for the Smiting Brethren of St. Michael:
Mark, I think you should go to the following site, read the Article, and perhaps the comments. It should provide both affirmation (see--I can talk like a new-agey psuedo Catholic!) and inspiration. Plus, it's nice and straightforward. I think you'll like it.

Stop Lying to me!
According to the Washington Times, President Obama is lying to us once again. (If you recall, he said that there would be no new taxes on people earning less than 250K a year, while his Health Care program imposes seven new taxes on that demographic.) Now he's lying, through his administration, about how much money we are going to owe due to his policies.
The White House Office of Management and Budget says that Obama's policies will result in a deficit of about 8.53 trillion over the next ten years.
The Congressional Budget Office says that the plan will generate about 10 trillion dollars in deficit. That's a lot more. About 10K more per household.
When Obama took office, the debt was about 6.3 Trillion, or 56K per household. Now the Debt stands at 8.2 Trillion, or 72K per household. The CBO estimates that the current laws and policies will end up with a debt of about 20.3 Trillion in ten years. That's 170K per household.
And 90% of our National GDP.
If President Obama was a foreign agent who was tasked with crippling or destroying America without a war, this would be an effective way to do it.

Bishop Morlino, I owe you a beer!
For clearly and explaining the abomination that the Catholic Health Association and the Nuns of Network have become.
His remarks were published in the Madison Catholic Herald, available on the web at
www.madisoncatholicherald.org/bishopscolumns/1346-untagling -the-confusion-about-the-church.html
He actually said something that needs to be said: The Catholic Health Association is a trade association that claims to be Catholic, but does not have any links to the Bishops.
I like this guy. Can we have him take Mahoney's place?

More stuff just rounded up.
Let's hear it for N.C.-- A jury in Alamance County has found a man not guilty of child abuse for spanking his child. This is an exercise in Jury Negation. N.C. still has some common sense left, outside of the Triangle.
Unexpected-- The 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals has applied the same standard to both sides in the dispute over Proposition 8--ruling that yes, the opponents records are admissible and relevant to the hearing on the constitutionality of the law.
Go read this or I'll be mad-- www.irishcentral.com/roots/Sister-Mary-Beth-a-true-hero-of-the-Church-89080187.html
The UK stands up for Christian rights-- The new code of conduct for pharmacists in the UK maintains the rights of pharmacists to not dispense drugs in violation of their conscience. Now if only we can all 50 US states to follow suit... .
Anglican Archbishop Nicholas Okoh-- This guy is the new Primate of the Anglican church in Nigeria. He has, as one of his first acts, affirmed the ban on Gay Marriage that is supposedly in effect throughout the Anglican Communion. I have found no comment from the US presiding Bishop, Katherine Jefferts-Schorri.
Obama signing an Executive Order preventing Federal funding of Abortions: About.com has on it's "contraception" page (Since when is abortion contraception? it doesn't prevent conception--it kill the baby.) has an article whose headline says that the signature of this order leaves women stunned and infuriated. If he hadn't, the women in my family would have been even more infuriated than they already are at the "health bill". And interestingly enough, there is a poll attached to the article with all sorts of responses to express women outrage, yet the most popular response is that Obama didn't go far enough to restrict federal funding of abortions with 23% of the responses, and one saying that Obama did the right thing with 9% of the responses. Not bad for a poll obviously designed to make this act look bad.

120 years ago on my birthday...
...Louisville was struck by a very powerful tornado, one of the deadliest storms in American history. Downtown looked like Nuremberg in 1945, with commercial, industrial and residential infrastructure destroyed.
Louisville not only recieved no Federal assistance, it refused it. All aid and relief for recovery and rebuilding was from local financiers, charities and resources. The mess was cleaned up in a month and the area was rebuilt in short order.
When I compare that to Hurricane Katerina and aftermath, I can only think: We used to be a great people.

Being Angry is NO Excuse!
People, now is not the time to be threatening the lives of congressmen, nor is it the time to be throwing bricks through Democratic party local headquarters. such actions are just plain wrong!
If you want to threaten a congressman, do it in a way that is legal and effective. Face it, if you threaten their lives, they will simply get more protection, up to and including the Armed Forces. (Do you want Delta Group kicking in your door because you have managed to become classified as a domestic terrorist) The basic way to threaten your elected representative is simply to give the old office a call, and point out that not only will you not be voting for him this fall, you will be working against his re-election.
Because one of the things that has led our Republic to endure for so long--the longest standing Constitution and Government in the World--is the fact that every two years we can fire the government. And this year, if we want to punish the poltroons who have been screwing us over for years, we can use "paper bricks", otherwise known as ballots.
Part of the problem of this congress is that they didn't realize that we were firing the old one, not asking for a progressive revolution. That was the same mistake that the Republicans made after the so called "Republican Revolution" in the 90s. A good electoral trouncing will wake them up.
But we need to remember something--by some sources only 11% of the public think congress is doing a good job. That's bad. And we need to trounce the whole body Congress. So, instead of threatening you congressman, or throwing things through windows, try voting against any incumbent running in your area this year--I'd even say vote against them in the primary as well as the main election.
I understand the depth of anger so many of us are feeling. I feel it too. but throw ballots, not bricks. And don't make threats that open you to prosecution, and that you probably can't or won't follow through with. Instead, work to VOTE THE BASTARDS OUT.
Unstable third world hell holes do politics with bricks, and Uncle Sugar sent me to more than enough of them. I don't want to live in one. So channel your anger and VOTE!

Round 'em up
VD--well the CDC has published prevalence figures for syphilis and HIV: and as I have mentioned here before, it's the gay community that is the natural reservoir for these two infections in the US. The current epidemic of syphilis is occuring almost exclusivly amon gay men. (Which is a shame because just prior to the current epidemic it was possible to speak of ereadication in the US). Gay men are 46 times more likely to contract syphhilis than men who do not have sex with men. And 71 times more likely than women. AIDS is even worse. Yes people, by and large, these are gay diseases.
Oh, BTW--the CDC has estimated that only about 4% of the men in America have sex with other men, and that many of these are bisexual. So much for the famous 10% figure.
Little Sister Disciples of the Lamb-- This is a Canonically erected community in France, of contemplative women. Women with Downs syndrome. It's about time! One of the problems with religious life in America is that communities often exclude those who do do not have, or are not going to get, higher education. They exclude a good many people, as if the Lord will only call those from middle class backgrounds. (I know a couple of people who were discouraged from pursuing religious vocations because they were from the working class or backgrounds of poverty.) The Lord will call who he will, and if these sisters love the Lord, them more power to them!
Under the New Health Care Law-- Insurance companies can exclude children with medical conditions at birth from coverage, and refuse coverage to children with preexisting health problems. I'm not surprised, as near as I can tell the Dems as a party seem to think babies are a problem, not a resource. Except for fetal stem cells.
Freedom of Speech applies only to approved speech-- A San Francisco Bay area high school is once again inviting Gay speakers to it's days of diversity program. However, despite the student body requesting it, it has refused to allow an HIV positive man who has embraced celibacy to speak. After all, in the minds of many progressives "diversity" means "people just like us".
A double standard for Progressives-- A court has ruled that opponents of Proposition 8 in California must turn over their internal memoranda to lawyers for proponents of Prop. 8. They are objecting, even though Proponents were required to do this same thing by the same court!
It's like when they ganged up on supporters after the law passed, vandalized Churches, did that little (never prosecutted) assault on a little old lady in front of cameras, then claimed to be victims.
Pelosi Challenged at the Vatican-- Fed up with the moral cowardice of the Bishops of San Francisco and Washington DC, protesters have appeared at the Vatican holding signs calling for the excommunication of Nancey Pelosi. Perhaps, if it came from the Vatican, the other Bishops would act upon Vatican statements that pro-abortion politicians should be excluded from Communion, instead of cowering from the disapproval of progressives who don't like the Church in the first place.
Your Children Belong to the State-- Ballard High School in Seattle Washington had a consent form on file for a 15 year old student. The consent form allowed access to the Student Health Center for the child to receive things like sports physicals, earaches, toothaches, etc. The Health Center arranged an abortion for her, and didn't even bother to tell her mother. After all, they know what's best for your kids--they're educators.
Georgetown and Notre Dame-- Two colleges that shouldn't be considered Catholic. Period.
Aside from their adoption of secularist values, except during fund raising activities, they are spitting on us Catholics.
Notre Dame's Reverend Hesburgh (NO, I will not call him Father) received a call from Nan "The Theologian" Pelosi asking him to lobby the Representative from South Bend--a Democrat--to vote for the Health Plan. The Rep. was wavering.
The Guy voted for the obamantion that is our national health care plan.
And, over at George town, the Student Activities Comittee voted to fund an "Abortion Rights Panel". I would think that a Catholic University would step in and say "No, not on this campus, not with these funds". But nope--it's all good at this Jesuit run institution.

Good News, Bad News
ACORN has disbanded itself--that's the good news. Grassroots conservative activism and journalism has exposed them for the corrupt and lawless group that they at heart were. They didn't survive the light.
ACORN has disbanded itself--that's the bad news. This group of activists and organizers will simply spread out, find more people with which to form new, and less well known groups to continue their activities. But we won't know who they are, and they will be, for years, free of scrutiny from people who love Liberty and do not wish for a group of self selected "progressive" activists sneaking their agenda into our lives like weasels in a hen house.

Art is Dead, but other than that, it's quite healthy
I read the alternative press in my region. I have been doing so where ever I found myself since the early 80s. (I have to admit it was a problem in Germany--my German wasn't that good and has gone downhill since! but I was able to get people to read it to me in English, sometimes.) One of the things about the alternatives around here is the heavy coverage of "art".
It's sad, because you are pretty much guaranteed to get a review if your "art" pushes the envelope. You know, is garish, ugly, offensive of sexually oriented.
"Art" is dead, killed by the shallow cognoscenti who want to appear to be avaunt gard and hip. These are the folks who control things like the NEA, and the various foundations that support "Art". It has degenerated into a way to say "in your face" to everyone not part of the hip little circle.
I mean, we all remember Andy Warhol and Mapplethorpe!
And what has become of symphonic music? Atonality? Clashing sounds that tell no story but serve only to let us know that we just aren't smart, hip or well educated enough to understand?
Yet art is very much alive, very healthy. Going back to symphonic music--listen to a movie soundtrack. There it is, symphonic music that works, is comprehensible. And that is the root of symphony--they used to have to sell tickets to about everyone, instead of to a bunch of professors and pompous dilettantes.
Painting and photography are also flourishing, in those areas where the practitioner has to depend on a market, not a group of pseudo-taste makers for support.
Yep--the "Art" community is estheticly and philosophicly bankrupt, but the community of people who like beauty and grace is very much alive, and rather well served.

Yep--the "Art" community is estheticly and philosophicly bankrupt, but the community of people who like beauty and grace is very much alive, and rather well served.

Let's Get Off Our Collective Ass!
Yeah, that was crudely put. Tell me I'm an uncouth fink, I don't care.
Our elected representatives have passed a law that is very, very bad. Not only is bad in the normal sense of we can't possibly pay for it, and the increase in taxation and deficit spending will due long term harm to our economy, it's bad in that it has opened the door for all of us to material cooperate with evil by using tax funds to pay for abortions.
I keep saying, and writing, about the necessity of penance and mortification. But I now realize that up to now I have done little.
If we do not pray and fast and practice mortification, both for our own sins of omission in this matter, and for those who do not or will not do so for themselves, this horror will never be overcome.
If we don't pray and fast, if we do not practice acts of reparation, if we do not practice mortification, we will never have the spiritual strength to oppose Satan, all his works, and all his pomps--they will continue to become entrenched in our society, our culture and our hearts.
I do not want to go before my final judge, and hear him say that for all I cried "Lord, Lord" he knew me not.
And it takes prayer and fasting to defeat demons. And demons, whether you are comfortable with the idea or not, are behind this. This is what Satanism looks like--not the stage crap that Anton LaVey sold.
So now, here's what's next: Anyone who reads this, and who thinks that I'm not neurotic about it, please comment--and perhaps we can put together a cyber cenacle of penitents to help save the lives of children, the souls of mothers, and our nation from perdition.

When the History of the American Reich is Written...
...we Catholics are going to take a pasting!
I know referring to an "American Reich" is inflammatory. But it does get your attention, doesn't it? And right now we are standing at a point where the Holocaust of children has been empowered and energized by Federal Legislation, and at a point where we have opened a door to a holocaust of the elderly.
Let's get something out in the open: The Nazi death machine killed about 10,000,000 people in it's industrialized murder factories, an estimated 6,000,000 of them of jewish origin. We Americans have, in our medicalized death shops, murdered over 50,000,000 children, with a disproportionate number of them being black or female. We have murdered more people using technology than the Nazis. And history will pillory us Catholics for it, just as historians and activists now try to blame us for the Nazi holocaust.
Except this time, we'll deserve it.
In the 30's and the 40's, bishops and the Pope spoke out against the Nazis. In the 60's through the 2010's Bishops and the Pope have spoken out against the murder of children. But we, as a Church, have ignored our pastors. Look at the stats. A huge number of us are using contraception, (and if you doubt the link between contraception and abortion I suggest you read Humanae Vitae!) a large number of us support abortion. We have groups like Catholics for a Free Choice, that work for expanded abortion practices--and we haven't done enough to straighten that mess out.
Yes, I know that CFFC has been declared to be a non-catholic organization, but really, it should have been that all members were formally and publicly excommunicated.
We have religious sisters that band together to announce that they support the current bill that does fund abortion, and does not provide explicit conscience protection for health care providers who will not participate in abortion.
We Catholics in American have given much more support for the murder of children than the Catholics of Germany did for the Third Reich. We have a heavy debt of sin and apathy--sin of omission--to account for.
That goes for all of us, because we are all part of the body of Christ and we have harbored within this body those who work for and promote the agenda of the anti-christs who feed Moloch on the bodies of children and souls of mothers.
